To inculcate the love of the motherland reverence for it is part and belief in it is feature destiny as the home of a united cooperative society based on love, truth, and justice.
The document says that social studies help children to understand the past and present of the nation. Along with these studies, children would have respect and love to their nation which is important to every citizen. We can only develop our country by these sense and united activities. A citizen can not involve in developing the nation without love, truth and justice.it exactly the true fact.
If a citizen would do like this, they need to learn first. So, the curriculum included these parts in social studies. When it be successful? Teaching has a big role in this. The teacher can use the impression and insight model for teaching. But insight model better than the impression. Because the child needs to get a vision to define and organize particular experiences and point out their significance. The matter of vision stimulating by the what teacher does better than explaining direct word to word to increase the love of motherland in the children to develop the individual and social virtues which made a man reliable associated and trusted neighbor.
The consciousness about social issues would only have by social studies. Nothing happened just living in society and looking in it. The deep understanding of society might make changes in our lives and be good human beings. The person who have social virtues not be the reliable or trusted one to all people. Because different people have different arguments about social issues. Nobody can make complete satisfaction to against person by his thoughts beliefs.
Understanding about society is most important to all person who lives in a society. But what kind of understanding they need? It is not enough Rucksack understanding which memorizing themes and just processing some information to mind. But the information should be useful. To behave virtues in a person, he needs to understand things properly. It is not enough understanding but has to apply in life. The knowledge which not have in the actions don not considered as an understanding.
Defining morality is highly discussed between the philosophers. The great philosopher Immanuel Kant contributed the theory “ universalization” test to Reason for the action. It assumes that one person’s insight thoughts lead him to action. For example, a person who not wear the mask in a public place in this condition, think that what would be the effect for me and society if I would not wear the mask. And suddenly he started to act according to his thoughts and wore the mask. Here the actons came by the consequences of Goodwill.
Goodwill is the Reason for the action. If we want to understand what Kant means by the “Goodwill’ we have to know what he distinguished from goodwill. It different actions from understanding, wit, judgment. And also different from fruits of fortunes, and happiness. Why he distinguished? I can give one easy example, what would be the actions od villans for his happiness.
What exactly Kant expect by the Goodwill.
It is from a particular good motive and the sense “ought to do this”. And out of the sense of low and duty. Not doing the actions for inclinations like self-interest, sense of vanity. Rectitude id from the love and gratitude not from them what we want. If we do anything for duty and accept the low, it is not considered as morally “Good’ as the
difference between the parents who take care of their child to ourself and fr the duty.
We can apply this theory to the context of the school. A teacher is a role model for all students. Teachers have to build a morally good environment for students. Because students would watch teachers and imitate in their in life. If as doing work for completing their duty, students do not have a proper model. Example, the teacher is working to getting a salary and take classes to complete portions not describing the clear and extra knowledge of the lessons. What would be effective for the children? Definitely, they would lose many things. And it leads students to be lazy to learn and misunderstand many things. Because of these reasons, students would study for only forget pass in the exam. Therefore we can’t consider the teachers are doing morally good.
For the students, if we training according to Universalaization. Children can build good character. Children do not learn morality and make an action for low of the school. They do not study to escaping from the punishment of the school. If they do for the low and be discipline for the teachers and authorities, they might be wrong behind those people. If they study for escaping from the punishment, that can not be useful in the life of the children.
I think this is so related to the school context. Not only the student and teachers but everyone who woking in the educational sectors need to act based on this Kant’s theory. Otherwise, we can not fulfil our dream by educating people.
